Why you need it
The firm has sixty clients, each with their own tax regime and deadlines, and the day before the deadline it turns out three of them haven’t sent a bank statement. Which clients are unprofitable because they sent two hundred documents instead of twenty, nobody has worked out.
A filing calendar is built for each client from their tax regime, and the accountant sees what has to be filed and what hasn’t yet come in from the client. The volume of source documents and the time spent are recorded, so it’s clear which clients the firm is losing money on.
