Why you need it
A freelance designer, two developers working as sole proprietors, and a self-employed copywriter get paid on the strength of an “I’m done, please pay” message. Who is owed how much for the month, under which contract, and where the completion certificate is, the accountant pieces together from chats.
Every assignment for a contractor gets a rate, a deadline, and a deliverable, and accepted assignments roll up into a completion certificate for the period. The debt to each contractor is visible as of any date, and project expenses come without entering anything twice.
