Why you need it
The agency has 4,000 policies with five insurers, and half of them expire within the year. Who to call this week is decided by the agent’s memory, and commissions are reconciled with the insurers a quarter later.
A policy keeps the client, the insured object, the insurer, the term, and the premium, and a month before expiry the agent gets a renewal list. Commission accrues at the insurer’s rate, and the reconciliation with each one is visible as of any date.
