Why you need it
A customer’s “delete my data” request comes in, and it turns out the data sits in the CRM, in email, in the sales department’s Excel, and with the mailing contractor. The regulator’s inspection asks for a register of processes that doesn’t exist.
The register describes what data the company processes and where, on what legal basis, and for how long it’s kept. Consents and data subject requests are tracked with reply deadlines, and the report is ready for an inspection.
