Why you need it
One sales rep promised a customer 200 units by Friday, another sold the same 200 to someone else, and the warehouse keeper found out on Friday. What’s been paid on the order, what’s been shipped, and what’s still outstanding is pieced together from the invoice, the delivery note, and the correspondence.
A sales order takes prices from the price list with the customer’s discount applied and reserves the goods in the warehouse. Partial payments and shipments close it line by line, and you can see what’s left to ship and who hasn’t paid in full.
