Why you need it
Stock figures don’t add up, and “do we have it in stock” is settled by calling the warehouse keeper.
Goods receipts, shipments, and transfers are posted to a stock register. The balance of every item is visible as of any date and for each warehouse, and a stock count shows the discrepancy against the records.
